Those of you who live in the NY metro area may be familiar with commercials advertising the fast-food chain Sonic. In case you're not, the commercials usually depict a yuppie couple sitting in their car, bantering back and forth about what Sonic's food means to them. Then it usually cuts to shots of deliciousness that include slushies, burgers, cheesy tater tots, chicken wraps, etc.
I don't know about you, but these commercials make my mouth water. Oh how I have longed to sit in my car and snack on some cheesy tots and a big juicy Sonic Burger! After having a pregnant lady-type craving attack, I looked up the nearest Sonic location on my computer to discover that the nearest one is SIXTY-FOUR MILES AWAY in Waretown, NJ. Sonic, why are you advertising in NYC when your closest potential customer is peeing in the water at the Jersey Shore?! Sonic, are you trying to torture me by airing your seductive food commercials in my direct marketing area?! SONIC!!!!!!!
SONIC, you are cruel and you are breaking my heart!
After eating your gaseous food, I know I would fart!
When I am lucky enough to visit you I bet,
I will roll up in your parking lot with my trashy Corvette.

I actually wrote an article about this too..They advertise in DC, but the nearest sonic is likely in alabama... I even wrote a craigslist ad asking for someone to drive me out there and I would pay them in hamburger...
good job with the blog lady.
OMG Liz I talk about this every single time I see a Sonic commercial as Sonic is my FAVORITE! I had one across the street from my high school so naturally I ate there almost every day --- I hate those stupid Sonic commercials, they make me sad!
tell me about it... they have those damn commercials in Albany too and all i want is one of those ice cold slushies... damn you Sonic.. damn you!!
I totally just noticed that the background in the first Sonic picture is fake. 1st - if the Empire State Building was that close to Sonic, it would be located behind my apartment. 2nd, there are no trees anywhere within sight of the Empire State Building. Wishful thinking though.
I ran up to some bitch in Penn Station last year because she was holding a Sonic cup and naturally I was really excited. When I asked her where she got the drink from she looked at me like I was crazy and ran for her train. Sadly, I never got to the bottom of that one.
